Dear Devotees and Friends,

The Temple Trustees wish to invite all devotees and well-wishers to celebrate the auspicious occasion of our Lord Ganesh’s birthday on 14-09-2026 Friday. As usual, we have embarked on celebrating this special day of our Lord in a grand manner. The festivities will start as early as 4.30am and go on till 10.00pm.

The first Pooja will start at 5.00am and the last at 7.30pm.

Our lord going to be in procession in the  special manjam

(chariot).

The temple has organized three grand abishekam to Lord Ganesh, followed by ten days of special abishekam to the Lord. The anantha chathurtdasi is on 06-09-2026 Friday.

Thaipusam festival commemorates the occasion when Goddess

Parvathi gave Murugan (Karthikeya) a “vel” (spear) so that he

could vanquish the evil demon, Soorapadman.

It is believed, if you pray on this auspicious day, you will receive

all his blessings as he is Vamsavirthi Karan (keeping the

generation without the break). Our temple will be celebrating

Thaipusam in a grand way.

With the almighty Lord Karpaga Vinayagar's blessings, The Board of Trustees of Auckland Sri Ganesh Temple Trust is

pleased to announce the Visuvavasu Varusha 2026 Mahotsavam Festival. The ceremonies will commence on Thursday 01st

of January 2026 with the inauguration ceremony and ending with the Ther Thiruvila (ratham) on Saturday 10th of January

2026.

The Kodiyettram (flag hoisting) on Friday the 02ndof January 2026 will mark the beginning of the festival.

The Board of Trustees cordially invites devotees and well –wishers to participate in the festival and receive the blessing

from Lord Karpaga Vinayagar under the auspicious time of Makara Sakranthi.

The Mahotsavam refers to a grand festival .Ther-Thiruvila is a colourful chariot festival followed by the Theertha

Utsavam (water ceremony) where possible the uthsava murti is taken to the temple pond, (the Temple will be using a small

Pool) and is dipped in the water. The devotees then plunge in, to cleanse themselves of their sins.
